The establishment of a good reputation is not an easy undertaking, nor is it something that can be earned overnight. It is the result of many instances of people talking with other people about events that have impressed them. People are impressed with different things, but their impressions form our image. The formation of a good image has to be considered a primary goal of our practice. It is accomplished by being friendly, by treating people fairly and being considerate of their needs.
It is also necessary that we maintain a positive attitude as well as being able to successfully treat orthodontic problems. While the building of a favorable image requires many positive actions over a prolonged period of time, this favorable image must be maintained on a daily basis or it becomes tarnished and suspect. To this extent we must never become complacent or at ease with ourselves or our duties. Our ongoing goal is the maintenance of a good image with the public and with our peers.
