Orthodontic FAQs

It can seem daunting to start orthodontic treatment, so we’ve gathered up commonly asked questions from our patients to keep you informed and confident along the way. Whether you’re getting started, in the process, or have just finished treatment, we hope this guide helps you.

Orthodontics is a dedicated specialization within dentistry that focuses on the precise alignment of teeth and the structural correction of the jaws. Our objective is to improve critical functions — including breathing, chewing, and speech — alongside securing long-term dental health. Orthodontic treatment resolves malocclusions such as severe crowding, spacing issues, crossbites, and underbites.

Alignment treatment is primarily a structural investment in health and security. A stable, corrected bite lessens the risk of oral health complications such as tooth decay and gum disease, as well as injury to protruding teeth. Furthermore, proper alignment is essential for efficient chewing, digestion, and speech clarity.

No. Orthodontic treatment can be undertaken at any age, provided the patient’s foundational gum and bone health is sound. Our mastery applies to the movement of teeth regardless of a patient’s age, ensuring reliable results for adults and children alike.

Every treatment plan is uniquely customized following a measured clinical diagnosis. While comprehensive treatment often ranges between 12 to 24 months, the duration is entirely dependent upon the complexity of the case and the chosen appliance. For a precise projection, we require an initial assessment.

Braces should not cause significant pain. Patients may experience a mild tenderness or slight pressure for one to two days following the initial fitting and subsequent adjustment appointments. This temporary discomfort is typically managed effectively with standard, over-the-counter pain relief, ensuring a composed treatment experience.

No. You are not required to obtain a referral to schedule an initial assessment with our specialists. We welcome patients directly, and we also collaborate readily with any general dentist who has referred a patient to our practice.

Yes. Our practice has achieved Diamond Invisalign Provider status, confirming our proven expertise and ability to treat a high volume of cases, including those with significant complexity, using clear aligners. We will assess if Invisalign is the most reliable and precise solution for your alignment goals during your initial assessment.

Yes. The retention phase is non-negotiable for securing your treatment outcome. If the retainer is not worn as instructed by your orthodontist, the teeth will inevitably shift, compromising the precision and stability of the alignment achieved. We provide a reliable process and custom retainers to maintain long-term security.

Due to the customized nature of the process, we do not operate on a uniform fee schedule. We encourage patients to inquire about our financing options, which include transparent cost structures and flexible payment plans, allowing you to proceed with composure.

Yes, we accommodate drop-offs to respect the parent's schedule. However, we may require a brief discussion with a parent or guardian before or after the appointment. We ask parents to check in with the patient manager upon return.

If you require further answers or are prepared to begin your thoughtful alignment journey, schedule your initial assessment today.
