"My three oldest kids have had care at Mattingly and Howell! They are top notch in care, hospitality, and facilities!My oldest started and completed her care here with Invisalign. We are extremely pleased with how things went.My next kiddo began care else where (another state) before we moved here, and was told she would be in brace for four years straight, when we saw Dr. Mattingly he was really wanting to give her a break, because four years is a long time to be in braces, and that is exactly what happened. A year and a half after care started here (almost 2 years in braces) she was able to get her braces off, and give about a year break before she will continue with Invisalign (still to come).My third kiddo had a cross bite and needed some early intervention. We decided to do an expander followed by Invisalign for his first phase. We had some decisions to make at the end of his first phase and Dr. Howell provided us with his educated advice and let us make the decisions!My fourth kiddo is not old enough for orthodontic care yet, but when he does we will come here without hesitation! Such great care, kind people, and wonderful space!"

"I did Smile Doctors through Mattingly & Howell and it was super easy. My smile looks great and my teeth are straight! The staff made sure that my entire experience was hassle free and painless, from getting my initial scan to helping me track my invoices for my FSA. (Shout out to Raven!) Plus, orthodontia technology has advanced so much since I got braces back in grade school that was surprised with how easy and quick it was for them to scan my teeth. And they could monitor my progress at home so I didn't have to make monthly check-ins, like the old days. 10 out of 10 recommend!"

"Dr. Chris Mattingly and his team are great. I recently had TMJ and Dr. Chris and his team understand adult tooth issues. I am a senior and want to retain my teeth for as long as I can. "My rating is 100 stars! I can't stop smiling! I'm 72yo & had never had braces. In my late 60's my top front teeth gradually began shifting over top of one another and were crooked. I began smiling with my mouth closed because I was embarrassed about my teeth. I believed I was too old for orthodontics and additionally, thought it was vain to spend the money for treatment at my age. Fortunately, I responded to an ad about discounts from Mattingly & Howell. I was warmly invited to come into the office for a consult. I'll omit the details of the consult for brevity, but Dr Howell developed a treatment plan for my teeth for Invisaligns. His plan was for 20 weeks and was affordable to my budget. I'm so happy with the results that I truly can't stop smiling! My family and friends are amazed by my results! Regarding my experience, every office person, from front desk staff, technicians, and Dr Howell, was exceptionally professional & kind. They were patient & thorough in instructing me on how to use the Invisaligns and ensured I practiced before I left the office. "I highly recommend Dr Mattingly for Invisalign treatment. I started my treatment at another orthodontist out of state. Before moving to Louisville, my prior orthodontist said I finished my treatment but I was unhappy with the results. Dr. Mattingly assessed my teeth and came up with a new great plan to fix my teeth. Now after finishing my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Mattingly, my smile is perfect and better than I ever thought possible.The Smile Doctors phone app used to scan my teeth every week was very easy to use and quick. During my in person visits, Dr. Mattingly was always very pleasant and personable. I only had 1 visit during my treatment with Dr. Howell, but he was very pleasant as well. The whole team at this location was great.I can’t recommend this place enough and will absolutely be going back here for any future orthodontic needs I have!"

"I really cannot say enough about Dr. Mattingly and his incredible staff at Mattingly & Howell Orthodontics. There's a location downtown for the few invisalign checkups that are needed (few compared to normal braces) and it's convenient for anyone who works in Indiana or downtown Louisville. The process is so smooth and takes no time at all to correct teeth (and bite) back to the proper place. I hesitated for a few years before pulling the trigger on invisalign, but I'm so happy I corrected my smile. I previously suffered from TMJ and I really think the bite correction and realignment of my teeth has done wonders to help the pain from teeth clenching and grinding. I'm about 6 months out from my last "invisalign tray" currently and really love the outcome. I look back at pictures before invisalign and it's incredible how fast the process works with simple trays. If you are considering invisalign, Dr. Chris, his entire staff (especially Gayle!) are so kind. Best money spent and post invisalign, I smile all time because I'm so happy with my teeth."

"There was never a day that I went in and wasn’t greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Everyone called me by my name as if they knew me my entire life and just made me feel like I was a part of their family. They are all professional and all so nice. The appointment times are flexible and they were always able to get me in very quick for my next appointments. Not only are they flexible but the appointments are quick. They will spend as much time as I needed to answer all my questions but when it came down to them working on my teeth, they were very fast and efficient. They work like a well oiled machine and because of this, there is almost never a wait to be seen on time which is very hard to find these days. "I initially went to Mattingly and Howell hoping to be a good candidate for braces to improve my smile and bite. The additional benefits that came with it were an unexpected improvement in my health. I can’t thank them enough!The initial consultation was very thorough. During this, it was explained that I would be a good candidate for jaw surgery because my lower jaw was small and under-developed. It was something to think about doing later. I was not too excited about the thought of surgery. Braces were placed. Adjustments were made. I could see a significant improvement in my alignment, however my “small jaw” was obviously not proportional. With each adjustment, we would discuss the possibility of surgery, and it’s risks and benefits. Mentioned was a “cure” or significant improvement in sleep apnea. Having this problem is what eventually led to the decision to have the jaw surgery. Approximately 14 months after my braces were applied, I had upper and lower jaw surgery with a highly skilled oral surgeon at the University of Louisville. After 2 weeks, I became aware that the sleep apnea was gone! Also, the general airway obstruction problems I had been experiencing for at least 10 years were gone as well! I was being treated for exercise-induced asthma (The inhaler made no change). I also took a daily medication for allergies (No change). My thyroid was scanned (The scan was normal). I gave up and accepted that I would struggle sometimes with my breathing. THIS IS NO LONGER AN ISSUE!Thanks to the individualized care I received from Mattingly and Howell and the entire staff, I was able to make an informed decision that has improved my health. "I finished my two years of braces in December 2011 and the results have been wonderful. I was a little nervous getting braces at first since I was 34 at the time but knew I wanted to get my under bite corrected and braces were recommended by my dentist. From my first consultation until the time I got my braces off, both Dr. Mattingly and Dr. Howell and the staff were nothing less than amazing. Each visit to the office I always received a warm welcome and they made the experience as pleasant as possible. We simply can't say enough about Dr Chris Mattingly and Dr Chris Howell and the whole staff......We really have had a great experience and our son Andrew who had a severe underbite, is looking so much better. Andrew is a talker and loves to talk to the DMD's and the hygienists (sometimes a little too much) but the staff is so friendly its so hard not to talk to them. I hope my daughter doesn't need braces but if she does we will most definitely not hesitate to go there as well. "I am very sad to say my experience with Drs Mattingly & Howell is coming to an end. My oldest child who is now 21 had braces through them and my youngest child just got his braces off today. The drs and staff that work there are always friendly and helpful and you can call on them anytime. When my youngest son had an ortho emergency, Dr. Howell came to the Stony Brook location from his Bardstown home on a Friday night and worked with him for well over an hour. I will never forget my experience with this office and will truly miss the drs and staff at this location."

"We were so happy with our experience at Mattingly & Howell in Bardstown during our daughter, Candice's treatment that we never gave another practice a thought for our son, Addison's treatment! Everyone in the office is friendly and they take time getting to know the patient. Dr. Chris Mattingly is who my kids seen most often and he would always take time after the appointment to chat with me about my child's progress as well as a friendly "catch up" moment with our family. The office is very clean, they provide a small play area for little ones, and the office design is open for you to see the orthodontic work taking place. The practice is ran very efficiently! When you make your appointment they can tell you approximately how long the appointment should take and I can't think of a single time they were wrong within our 6+ years of appointments with them. Lastly, the wait time in office after sign in is usually less than 10 minutes. They quickly call the patient back and get started on treatment, unlike other offices that claim you have little wait time only to call you into another area to wait again. I honestly can not think of anything negative to list about Bardstown's Mattingly and Howell Orthodontics!"
